Tamada to start from the front row at Chennai

The third round of the 2013 Petronas Asia Road Racing Championship opened Friday at the Madras Motor Track, located in the outskirts of Chennai in Western India.

The track and the country being the first for Tamada, did not stop him from achieving his best qualifying results of the season so far.  He lapped at 1’43.593 to put him on the 2nd grid, the first front row start for Tamada this season.  His teammate and current point leader, Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman, lapped a record lap of 1’42.785, and put him into the pole position.  This will allow MuSASHI Boon Siew Honda for a 1-2 grid at the double header tomorrow.

Md Zamri Baba(Yamaha) came in 3rd with a lap time of 1’43.713 to fill the front row.  Katsuaki Fujiwara (Kawasaki) qualified 4th with a lap time of 1’43.954.
