Tamada to serve as Team Manager at Suzuka 8 Hours
Tamada participated in Honda Team Asia Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Team from 2012 as a rider. The team was set-up by Honda to develop Asian riders to become a world class rider. Tamada also served as Professional Trainer of the Asia Dream Cup in 2012, training young Asian riders. From 2013, he is now a rider at MuSASHI Boon Siew Honda Racing, and have been racing in the Supersports 600 class of the Asian Road Racing Championship. These activities were all in aim for the development and training of Asian riders.
Tamada now takes a bigger role, and will be serving as team manager. This will be his first to serve as team manager.
The #22 Honda Team Asia entry’s 1st rider is Tamada’s teammate and current point leader in the ARRC SS600 class, Zamri Baba (Malaysia). The 2nd rider is the 2013 Suzuka 4 Hours Endurance Race winner and a rider who just achieved his first podium finish at Sentul, Dimas Ekky Pratama (Indonesia). And the 3rd rider is Tamada’s student in the 2012 Asia Dream Cup and a 2013 Suzuka 8 Hours entrant, Josh Hook (Australia). As you can see, it is now truly a “Asian” All-star team.
The 2014 Honda Team Asia Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Team will start its activities this week at the Suzuka 8 Hours Official Test on July 2nd and 3rd at Suzuka Circuit.
The 37th “Coca Cola Zero” Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race, Round 2 of the FIM World Endurance Championship will take place July 24-27 at Suzuka Circuit in Mie, Japan.
