Tamada to miss Suzuka 8 Hours

Makoto Tamada, currently racing at the Suzuka 8 Hours crashed at the S curves today during the 2nd qualification.  He was sent to the medical center in the paddock.  Possibilities of fractures were found, and was then transferred to a hospital in Suzuka City.

After an full examination, fractures of the left clavicle and scapula, as fractures on the left ankle were found.  Furthermore, a minor amputation of the left middle finger was found.

Tamada went through a successful surgery on his finger, and is now in stable condition.

For the team, #22 Honda Team Asia, Tamada’s qualification time in the first qualification session, put the team in the tenth position, allowing them to compete in the Top 10 Trial tomorrow.
