The 4th round of the Japan Road Race Championship took place at the still hot, Sportsland SUGO, located in the outskirts of Sendai, Japan.

Defending champion, Hiroyuki Kikuchi (Honda) couldn’t find the grip he wanted from the first session this weekend.  He qualified 10th and tried his best to finish as high as possible.  Making a great start, Kikuchi jumps up to P6 in the opening lap.  He manages to pass riders one by one, and reaches P2 by mid-point of the race.  However, the lack of grip still taunted him, and eventually drops pace.  He ended up finishing 7th.

Osamu Miyazaki (Yamaha) in the ST600 class, high-sided in entering Corner No.3 during the 2nd practice session on Friday.  This faller resulted in a fracture in his right lower leg fibula.  Miyazaki pulled out of the race this weekend, and will aim for his return in the next round at Okayama.
